The fifth and final in the series and Highlights Chicago events both dubious and famous that happen "Only in Chicago"!. Icon is near the former Biograph Theatre, spot of the infamous gunning down of bank robber John Dillinger. Beware the Lady in Red!
Chicago celebrated its 175 birthday this past year so we thought a fitting present would be a series of five puzzle caches that will teach us about the history of our fine metropolis. 175 years of memories, horrible, humorous, and remarkable.
Chicago is known as the City of Big Shoulders, the Stockyard City and the Windy City. To complete these puzzles you will have to find the dates of the listed events and do the math associated with each date to get the coord’s to the final. Each puzzle will be a trip down memory lane. We hope you enjoy and learn some new things on the way to this cache.

A=the year Lager Beer riots in April protest higher saloon taxes and anti-beer laws.
Add all four numbers in date together then subtrat 15 from the sum.
B=the year Allan Pinkerton’s men thwart a grave-robbing scheme by a city official.
Add first two numbers in date together,add second two numbers in date together. Add both answers together, then subtract 20.
C=the year the Chicago Water Tower was erected.
Subtract first number in date from second.subtract third number in date from fourth.add both answers together then subtract 5.
D= the year Pullman workers go on strike.
Subtract first two numbers in date from last two numbers in date then subtact 71 from the difference.
E=the year elevated train lines built in Loop.
Subtract second number in date from third number in date.Subtract first number in date from fourth. Subtract first answer from second and use this number here.
F=the year Frank Baum writes “The wonderful Wizard of Oz” at his Humboldt Park home.
Add third and fourth numbers in date together.Subtract firts two numbers as one number from that sum. Now add five to that answer.
G= the year the Chicago River’s flow is reversed.
Multiply the first and second numbers.add that answer to last two numbers and use this answer here.

H= the year Walt Disney was born in Chicago.
Subtract last two numbers in date from first two numbers in date, then subtract 10 from answer.
I= the year Riverview amusement park is opened.
Subtract last two numbers in date from first two numbers in date then subtract 8 from difference.
J= the year of St. Valentine’s day Massacre.
Add all four numbers in date together. Add date that St. Valantines Day falls on. Divide answer by 7, then subtract 2.
K=the year bank robber John Dillinger shot dead outside Biograph Theatre.
Subtract 34 from last two numbers in date. Now subtract first number in date from second number and add both answers together.
L= the year deep dish pizza mecca Pizzeria Uno opens.
Use second number in date here.
M= the year Mayor Jane Byrne moves into Cabrini Greens public housing temporarily.
Take last two numbers in date as one and subtract 75 to get this number.
N= the year Mayor Richard M. Daley shuts down Miegs Field in the middle of the night.
Add all numbers together then subtract 1.
