As far as i could go!
Today decided to go hiking somewhere new, and since I had the GPS map of a fun hike, decided to give it a try. This trail is called Kapalama loop, but part of the hike is by permission of Kamehameha schools. I decided that I would skip any "illegal" sections and just head off to Lanihuli via theother trail.
The start of this trail is at Na Pueo park, at the top of Alewa Drive. As I was driving up the road, I zipped right past the park! That park isn't a very big park, just a small yard and one basketball hoop on half a basketcall court. There's also a Board of Water supply tank surrounded by a fence. Thats the start of the trail.
When you start, just follow all the recently places ribbons. And OMG, this trail is beautiful! I've been on most of the Koolau hikes and this one tops them all! The views are just...you have to be there!
I was hiking along happily until the 1 and 1/2 mile mark, my knee started to hurt! Since it was early, I kept going and going until I reached the cache location. Then I knew I was Pau! (Hawaiian for finished). I couldn't go anymore! The spot was so nice, I wanted to leave a cache for the next person to come!
