This is one of seven caches I placed in this wonderful park. There are plenty of things to see and do from baseball, soccer, and tennis to hockey and basketball. The trails along the lower part of the complex are paved and fairly level and make for a leisurely walk or a good place for the little ones to practice riding their bikes. There is also a playground up the hill with some unique apparatuses for the kids. At the top of the hill is the seniors area with horseshoe pits, checkers, and even shuffleboard. For as much as there is to do, this park can seem like a ghost town at some times. At other times, it is bustling with activity in all areas. Take your time and enjoy the caches and all that this park has to offer.
BYOP. Short distance off trail from parking.
Park is open 8am to 8pm
From the website:
In 1995, the township purchased a 50-acre parcel of land along East Pike Road for development as a recreation complex. Through local fund raising efforts and with the assistance of State grant funds, the "White Township Recreation Complex" is now a reality. The facilities completed and being utilized are four full-size baseball fields, including a 500-seat grandstand on one ball field, two soccer fields, a playground, walking trails, tennis courts, concession stand, restroom facilities, parking, two basketball courts, a picnic area and a seniors area.
The S&T Bank Arena, at the White Township Recreation Complex, offers a variety of community based programs and services including public ice skating, ice skating lessons, Learn to Play hockey lessons, and many more. Our facility houses a turf arena, full ice arena, batting cage, and meeting/party rooms. The arena is also well equipped for a variety of indoor events. We are proud to host many organizations such as the Red Line Club, Indiana Youth Hockey Association, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, The Indiana Ice Minks, Kiski Prep, Indiana Area Soccer Boosters and The Indiana Lacrosse Club.
