My family and I visited Roosevelt Park regularly in the 1980s. We would cross over from Staten Island to NJ for the cheap gas, low sales tax and ample green space.
In Roosevelt park we would enjoy a picnic lunch, walk around the lake and take time to hit some pitching wedge shots in the large open fields.
Herman Erlichson (1931-2012) grew up in Brooklyn, attended Brooklyn Technical High School, City College, the Sorbonne, Harvard University, Columbia University and Rutgers University. Along the way, he earned two doctorates, one in Philosophy of Science and one in Physics. He published over 80 papers on various topics, but his true love would always be the outdoors, nature and his own family.
The cache contains contains a poem, entitled River, which he wrote in 1969 when he was 38 years old. I suggest reading it while enjoying the beauty of the setting.
The cache itself is a micro canister and you should be able to find it if your GPS is accurate.
Be sure to bring your own writing instrument, as the log is the back of the included poem.
