This cache has been placed in preparation for a Girl Scout lesson coming up in June!
My troop meets at the Urbandale Library, so we're filling in the blank spots along this trail so we have more caches to find.
While Mrs. Cyther was using the Waypoint Averaging function on the GPS (wrote that just for bucknuts), I found a nearby sitting area and statue of St. Francis. We double checked this area is public, and it is. There was a baggie next to the statue with an article about it, so after we were done obtaining coordinates for my cache, we read the article and looked around the area a bit. We noticed a neighbor out on his deck, but he didn't seem to care about what we were doing, so we carried on.
When we left to go on down the trail, the neighbor shouted out to us "Glad you enjoyed it and spent some time there!" Turns out, he is the person that put the bench and statue here for others to enjoy. Hopefully you all will take a few moments to enjoy this little piece of serenity in the woods.
