Geocache Description:

This is the second of ten on this trail.  If coming from the parking area you will have taken a right hand turn off of the red trail and now you are on the yellow marked trail.  This is a small tupperware piece.  If you need a hint, the cache is probably gone.

One of the seven different trails that are part of the Rome Sand Plains Unique Area.

All 16,000 acres of the Rome Sand Plains Unique Area are located within the city of Rome.  It is one of only a handful of inland pine barrens in the country.  This natural treasure consists of high sand dunes and low peat bogs, along with pine barrens and hardwood forests, meadows and wetlands.

This series starts and ends on a red marked trail, caches 2 through 10 are on A yellow marked trail. The trail from caches 2 through 6 is a well worn and marked 4 wheeler trail. Pay attention between cache 6 and 7, you leave the 4 wheeler trail and sort of bushwack to a new trail...the yellow markers are there, just hard to spot at times and the trail is hard to follow at times. From cache 8 to past cache 10 the yellow markers are hard to follow also.
There are three places between caches 6 and 10 where you will be crossing water without a bridge. Between cache 1 and 10 there is a stream that needs to be jumped/crossed...the bridge is out. Between caches 6 and 8 you will be crossing two beaver dams and a flooded bridge. You may very well end up wet after doing this series.
Please remember to check for ticks after these caches....I had a few with me after placing this series.
