Geocache Description:

A very nice old church discovered by me and Raluca in Siret.
The first cache in Siret, a town where the European route E 85 enters Romania.

Church Saint Onufrie.
Church St. Onufrie, of Manastioara-Siret is a church founded by ruler Stefan Petriceicu.
On this place in 1560, during the reign of Alexander Lapusneanul, a priest from Siret namen Mihul builds a wooden church. Before his death, he decdicates this church to Putna Monastery
In 1673, the wooden church is replace by Stefan Petriceicu with a stone church dedicated to St. Onufrie.
According to art historian Vasile Dragut, the church is "a replica of Putna in smaller proportions, but a notable beauty".
