Geocache Description:

A cache to give you reason to visit a "far out" meadow in a far flung part of Shiloh Ranch Regional Park. Maybe you will think it is "a trail too far."

FTF CONGRATULATIONS to ZombieDragonfly

At Shiloh Ranch Regional Park just north of Santa Rosa, just south of Windsor, you will find that about 2 to 2 1/2 miles of one-way hiking will get you to Ground Zero. The cache is within sight of Mark West Creek Trail. To get into this far flung part of the park with the most moderate elevation change, take Creekside trail to Pond to Ridge to Mark West Creek trail. An alternate is using any of a number of trails to access Canyon Trail which can be followed to Mark West Creek Trail. See the park department map available at:  <http://parks.sonomacounty.ca.gov/Get_Outdoors/Parks/Shiloh_Ranch_Regional_Park.aspx>.   The cache is in a beautiful meadow from which most signs of nearby rural development are no longer visible. When placing the cache I saw Turkeys, dragonflies, woodpeckers, many varieties of songbirds, plus flowers still blooming. You will pass numerous other geocaches to get here, and just beyond this cache is Bocephus. LOG ONLY, BRING YOUR OWN PEN OR PENCIL.
