This cache was named "RR" from the original chosen hiding spot of inside a rail road tie. Unfortunately that location was not approved due to distance from an existing cache. So, we found another spot that is a bit easier to retrieve, but still at the park.
Short term parking may be available in the little alley off Illinois (best to enter off Wayne) right at the coordinates for this hide. If you park on Buchanan St, you will have a nice walk about 600 ft to the gz. After you find it, consider taking a walk up the stairs to the upper level for a spectacular view of the city. Although, in the summer when the trees are in full bloom, the view may be blocked.
History: Named for it’s many walnut trees. Walnut Hills Park was established in 1926 as a municipal park by the City of Dayton. It offers a spectacular view of Dayton and the surrounding area from a constructed viewing platform and stage.
Approval for this hide permitted by City of Dayton, Public Works Dept.
*FTF gets a personalized stone for this cache find; CONGRATS Grey-n-Red for being first to find and earning the stone.
