North To Nelson!
The Great Northern Rail Trail extends from Salmo, past Nelson, and on to Troup, following the former Nelson and Fort Sheppard railway. The rail bed is level (more or less), but some portions of it are better traveled than others, so the ground varies from groomed gravel to overgrown weeds. It is a great trail for walking or cycling, and in the winter, X-country skiing or snowshoeing. ATV or motorbikes are allowed in this area, but please keep your speed DOWN!
Lots of standing water along different parts of the trail, but luckily, not too much here. Wonder how it would analyse? Highway side within 5 m of trail. You can use the posted parking coords to access this section of the trail easily.
