A moderate walk/hike to a local landmark.
In the foothills east of Cedar City is an interesting little 'cave' known locally as Moroni's Cave. More of a tunnel through a jumble of fallen rocks, the most interesting feature are the carvings that are over the entrance. Very neat & nicely carved. A little too neat & nicely carved.
A popular spot, there are many trails in the area. Pick one that you like. Access from the west is very steep, so if you start from that direction you may want to circle around to the east. Total hike is about a mile and a half, and a gain of about 500 feet. The 'cave' and carvings are 100 feet south of the cache.
