Geocache Description:

One of two caches planted along the Steep Ravine Trail on the Western side of Mt Tam to celebrate the incredible beauty of this area.   About a 1.5 mile hike one way.

I hiked the Steep Ravine Trail for the first time today, and realized it's one of the most beautiful trails I have ever hiked.
No dogs are allowed on the Steep Ravine trail.

You will find a parking area at the trailhead, along HIghway 1, across from the Steep Ravine Environmental Camp, which is not far south of Stinson Beach.
This geocache is somewhat in the middle of the Steep Ravine trail, about halfway between Highway 1 and the Pantoll Ranger station.  GPS reception may be poor in this area, but you will not have trouble finding the general area where the geocache is placed. It's at Steep Ravine falls, probably the nicest waterfall you'll see along the trail.  The cache should be pretty easy to find: if you are approaching from BELOW (from west side) then just before you come to the bridge, you go left only a few feet and look for rocks at the base of a tree.  If you come from ABOVE or the east side, cross bridge first and then go right and look for a couple rocks at the base of a tree. Cache container is a tube 1 inch in diameter and 3 inches long.
