Geocache Description:

A Geocaching Rendezvous on Saturday June 1, 2002 at one of the most historic parks in Oregon (actually the place Oregon became a state).

OHL #1859 Beaver Board

There are several reasons to come:
  • Work on a park improvement project clearing English Ivy.
  • Build "Child of Rendezvous" caches as a part of the event, and to send home with the cacher traveling the farthest.
  • The entrance to the park on June 1st is free.
  • Learn what may have happened to Oregone's girlfriend Kitty (what about Jenny?).
  • Eat a potluck lunch with other geocachers.
  • Schedule:
    10:00 - 12:00 Ivy clearing project organized with the park staff. Coordinates will be posted. Gloves, long sleeves, and closed toe shoes required.
    12:00 - 1:00 Potluck lunch, at covered eating area, barbeque pits available
    1:00 - ? Oregone's history lesson, followed by Oregon History Lesson. We will also divide into two teams to place "Child of Rendezvous" caches, trade coordinates & find the other teams' cache, we will have a wireless connection to post our progress.
    NEW: There will be an East team, Geocache names beginning with A-M, captained by Matt of Matt & Laura, and a West team, Geocache names beginning with N-Z, captained by Soup. The listed coordinates will take you to the sign board by the entrance, on the day of the event the coordinates will be posted, look for the Geocaching logo. Some people may want to camp at the park the night before, you may reserve campsites at: Champoeg infomation & reservation Please post a log with the number of people who will be attending to help us coordinate with the park. If you volunteered to build one of the caches please post the theme of the cache so cachers make appropriate contributions. Also please posts comments and suggestions on the discussion forum.
