There are 50 geocaches hidden within 16 state parks and state historic sites in the Saratoga/Capital District region, and geocachers finding them all will be eligible to enter their names in a drawing for valuable prizes. This cache contains a unique stamp which must stay with the cache. Use this stamp to stamp your passport. This stamp is NOT a trade item.
This search for this cache can start from any of the parking lots servicing Northern Trails zone of Thacher Park. This search will take you to a lesser used portion of the park but you’ll be glad you did when you see the view that opens up near this cache. Your journey will take you on a trail that is a favorite for mountain bikers in the summer snowmobilers in the winter. Along the way, you cross over the Long Path, a trail extending from the George Washington Bridge all the way through the Catskills and ending in Thacher Park. There are lots of crevices near the cache but plenty of other hiding spots as well! Park goers familiar with the trail this cache is located near will pick up a clue from the name of the cache.
With the exception of the stamp, the items in the cache that relate to the park are souvenirs that do not need to be replaced with a trade item.
