Der Aarauer Bachverein hat im Jahr 2008 einen Projektvorschlag zur Renaturierung des untersten Abschnittes der Suhre initiiert. Im Projektgebiet befindet sich einer der wenigen in der Schweiz noch bekannten Laichplätze der stark bedrohten Fischart ‚Nase‘. Der letzte Abschnitt der Suhre sollte wieder möglichst naturnah strukturiert werden, um gute Voraussetzungen für eine vielfältige Tier- und Pflanzenwelt und besonders für die bedrohten Fischarten zu schaffen. Die Projektidee hat die zuständigen Stellen des Kantons und den WWF Schweiz überzeugt. Die Realisierung wurde vor allem auch dank den finanziellen Mitteln des WWF und der Unterstützung des Kantons Aargau im Jahr 2011 realisiert. Gleichzeitig hat die Stadt Aarau die alte baufällige Brücke abgebrochen und sie durch eine neue ersetzt. Die Brücke ist ein ausgezeichneter Standort für die Beobachtung von Tieren über dem neuen naturnahen Suhreabschnitt.

The stream club of Aarau initiated a project proposal for the renaturation of the lowest section of the clocks in 2008. In the project area, one of the few spawning areas of the highly endangered fish species 'nose' still known in Switzerland. The last section of the clocks should be structured as naturally as possible, in order to create good conditions for a diverse animal and plant world and especially for endangered species of fish. The project idea has convinced the competent authorities of the canton and WWF Switzerland. The realization was realized in 2011, thanks in particular to the WWF's financial resources and the support of Canton Aargau. At the same time, the city of Aarau has broken the old dilapidated bridge and replaced it with a new one. The bridge is an excellent location for the observation of animals over the new near-natural watch section.
