Geocache Description:

The Cache to Eagle series began in Marin County to bring geocachers to areas Boy Scouts had put in planning and hard work to improve their community.

M4 has been part of Troop 108 for just over a year. We recently attended an Eagle Scout ceremony celebrating 4 young men in his Troop who attained their Eagle rank during the year. Only a small percentage of Boy Scouts reach that goal! We thought we'd share a project one of the Scouts completed on his way to achieving the highest Scouting rank.

You will be taking a short walk from the convenient parking area to the kiosk (not the one by the parking lot!) that was designed and built by the Scout and his crew. The kiosk describes the area, shows the many trails you can choose from while exploring the park and has some interesting facts and photographs. Search for the below information to figure out where to find the cache.

N43 1A.BCD W077 2S.TUV

A = number of screws attaching the small Eagle plaque to the kiosk
B = number of times the word 'trail' appears in the map key
C = 3rd number in the year the Big Woods was permanently protected by a conservation easement
D = number of times Steve Maslowski's name appears in the photo credits

S = second number in the acre size of the Big Woods
T = first number in length of Big Field Trail
U = number of letters in the word following Gosnell Big Woods .... at the top of the sign
V = number of acorns in the picture labeled 'Red Oak'.

You are looking for a 'palooza' container - slightly smaller than a film canister for those not familiar with the 'palooza' containers. A nearby trail will lead you within 140 feet of the final. From there, follow the ridge to the search area. Please tread carefully and respect your beautiful surroundings!

There is a lammie for the First to Find.

Thank you for taking the time to visit one of the many worthwhile projects Boy Scouts complete each year!
