I accidentally happend upon this trailhead while taking a drive to see if there was access to some other caches on Mountain road, but soon found out that Mountain Road, is really and old dirt road that has been converted to a snowmobile trail.
NALMC (Northwood Area Land Management Collaborative) is an informal group of locals in and around the town of Northwood, NH working together to connect neighbors to the land and to each other, through an appreciation of the natural world.
NALMC Built & mantains the 5-mile NALMC hiking trail connecting pulic and private lands and maintains an informational kiosk in the heart of the NALMC neighborhood along the NALMC trail. They Conduct and sponsor workshops on natural resource topics of local interest, host seasonally themed potluck get-togethers such as the maple sugaring event, co-sponsored the 1st New England Aldo Leopold Day in 2011 & organized the 1st community-wide outdoor 'Discovery Day' at Northwood Meadows State Park in 2009.
By working together acoss property boundaries, NALMC promotes science-based land stewardship with many of the same values as Aldo Leopold's Land Ethic. NALMC hopes to serve as a model for others, encouraging 'neighborhoods' throughout the state and beyond to work across boundaries on collaborative, voluntary and community-based stewardship.
