Geocache Description:

This cache is in the Tehaizaka village in Happo-cho town, Akita Prefecture. Please bring your own pen.

Tebaizaka village is a place that was called "Arcadia village" from Masumi Sugae who was famous travel essayist in Edo era. Masumi Sugae descended slope that crawled with the hand on the way of travel. Then, the village where the peach flower was in full bloom appeared suddenly. It is said that he was impressed by the beauty.

The tourist visits the peach flower and the thatched house group see now. But most houses have ruined. If you see the peach flower, May is the best.

このキャッシュは,秋田県八峰町の手這坂集落にあります。ペンをご持参ください

 手這坂は,江戸時代の著名な紀行家である菅江真澄が,「桃源郷」と呼んだ場所です。
 菅江真澄が旅の途中,手で這うような坂を下っていました。すると突然,桃の花が咲き誇る村が現れました。彼はその美しさに感動したと言われています。
 現在も,萱葺き民家群と桃の花を見に,観光客が訪れます。しかし,ほとんどの民家は廃屋となってしまいました。桃の花は5月が見頃です。
