---DEUTSCH

- inizio 1 sec. d.C.).

---ENGLISH
The cache is situated on the Pinaz hill, a low rocky hill whose upper part was polished by glacial action. Here, several remains of Bronze Age huts were found; there are also traces of probable houses dating to the Iron Age. The hill was settled for predominantly defensive reasons, since the settlement area was surrounded by a mighty fortification structure, as revealed by the archaeological excavations. This structure originally consisted of posts sunk in deep trenches, with their underground part being blocked by stone walls. The wooden posts decayed, yet the structure is still preserved beneath the present ground surface, within the trenches running along the edge of the hill. On some rock outcrops there are traces of engraved cup-marks, the mysterious small rounded hollows which we invite you to discover. Trench excavations for waterlines on the southern side of the hill have revealed the presence of layers with abundant charcoal and materials dating to the very early phase of the Roman occupation. (end of the 1st century BC beginning of the 1st century AD).
