A lovely campsite that has been closed by the BLM. Many good memories here.
This area was once one of the most beautiful camp sites in Moab. We started going there in 1987, and have been going down to Kane Creek to camp for 26 years in a row now. The P Tree was named for when we had a little too much to drink one night and decided to make the rule that if you had to take a pee, you needed to climb a tree. Well, the nickname stuck. Hence the site was forever dubbed the P Tree site. The P tree is a beautiful cottonwood tree that has been there faithfully for us to provide shade and a place to pee. Unforunately a combination of idiots who do not tread lightly on nature, and the BLM (who I cannot give my opinion on for fear of this Geocachoe having a political agenda) has caused this lovely camp site to be closed off forever. Hiking there with my 7 year old son made me very sad this weekend because we cannot camp there any more.
