A place to relax and listen to the river.
This part of the river I found relaxing and away from the hussle and bussle of Stirling road. The sound of the road is masked by the tranquality sound of the river, also the aroma of the wild flowers and garlic add to the great experience. The river rises in Campsie Fells before flowing into the Carron Valley Reservoir. It passes by Denny, then between Larbert and Falkirk, past the villages of Carron and Carronshore before flowing into the Firth of Forth near Grangemouth. The river is also home to a variety of wildlife. Up stream from the cache location is the broken weir which spans the river Carron to the southwest of the ironworks and the weir dates back to the realignment of the river in the late 18th or 19th century. On the opposite side of the river is, the intake to the Lade and its sluice gate which is still intact. A pen or pencil is needed to sign the Logbook. We done QueenLucyDaffodil who was the FTF. :).
