We started Geocaching exactly one year ago today. To commemorate our 12-month achievement, we thought we should hide a cache of our own, just like so many others have done in the past.
Somersby Falls was the perfect choice. We have had many happy times here enjoying family picnics. It’s also an ideal location to bring visitors from overseas to enjoy an escape from everyday life amidst lush rainforest that feels a million miles away.
Because Somersby Falls is in a national park this cache is located nearby the park, not in it. The cache container is a 700ml screw-top plastic jar which contains a log book, pencil and a variety of swaps.
After you’ve tracked down the cache, enjoy a tasty barbecue or picnic lunch at Somersby Falls. Why not stretch your legs a little further on the Somersby Falls walking track? It’s a 500m return walk through rainforest that takes in views of the top and bottom waterfalls. The walk is steep and slippery in places, so keep an eye on the kids as they walk along the track.
