A Potentially Educational Cache For Kids (or big people too).
"Billy Bear" is the name of my 4th grade grandson in whose honor this cache has been placed within walking distance of his house.
What's potentially educational are the cache contents: several very old pennies, 60-75 years old, all dated from the decades of the 1930's, 1940's or 1950's. The "teaching moment" is for the child to select one of the pennies, and for the adult to tell a history story about something that happened during that penny's decade. The adult's teaching assignment is to give the child a brief "history lesson," be it personal history, family history, US history or world history.
If the child is present when the cache is found, the child may take one penny. If no children are present, please take No pennies.
When you log your find on the web site, please tell me how many pennies are left. Grampa can re-stock with more pennies when the supply gets low.
