- WARNING!! The cache is in a very difficult to reach area so please leave the children to play by the Falls.Also it would be a good idea to bring a friend as the cache is surrounded by water and we don’t need any accidents.
.The Cache can be accessed two ways, getting wet or staying dry. Although you might still get wet if you go the dry way haha. In my opinion the wet way is the safest as there is less likely the chance of falling.
- The cache is a small camouflaged clip lock container placed just up river from "The Falls", an area very popular with the locals from the surrounding area and Dunmanway town itself.
After you park and go throught the gate, head down right to the Falls main area a wide field with short grass perfect for picnics and theres a wide swimming area also.
- During sunny summer days, though in the past few years its popularity has fallen, it isnt unusual for there to be large crowds here having barbeques, swimming and camping so be careful when your hunting for the cache :)
The Falls are part of the Bandon river an estuary of the Lee, in this area the river splits in two, forming three small waterfalls (<-- doesn’t make sense, it will when you get there) which has widened the river and made this natural swimming pool.
- The Falls is also well known as 'The Sam Maguire River' to the locals because the river passes by Sam’s birthplace.
Also Funmanway, an adventure park is just around the corner from the cache site and is a good place to cool off with some, Paintballing, watersports or zorbing.
