Geocache Description:

One of 5 caches in the Yellow Bluff Hiking and Rock Climbing Preserve. None of the caches require climbing gear. This is a small cache located just off the end of the hiking trail. From the trail head parking, you will come to #3 then this one. The trail head is the only place to park. Difficulty raised from 1.5 to 2 to reflect the problem with noisy coordinates. There is also a hint. This cache is intended to be the easiest of the five.

Standard size cache located just off the trail in the Yellow Bluff Hiking and Rock Climbing Preserve. The property and trail are owned by the Southeastern Climbers Coalition, http://www.seclimbers.org/. They graciously granted permission for this geocache to be placed on their property. Please do not disturb or remove any climbing gear you may find. The cache is NOT located on the rock face and climbing is not required to access it. A walking stick could be very helpful.

If you normally cache with a smart phone app, you may want to download the location in advance and take a standalone GPSr. Cell phone reception in this rugged area has improved since I placed this cache, but you should not assume your phone will be able to download the cache info.

You are looking for a standard size container that holds a log book, pen, and, for the first to find, a paperback copy of the classic first P.D. James novel featuring Chief Inspector Adam Dalgliesh, "Cover Her Face." The cache is hidden but should not be difficult to spot once you get close enough. When you find it, please replace it carefully.

Bug spray with DEET is highly recommended in the warmer months.

There is no legal or practical access to these caches other than via the trail from the parking area. It's a scenic walk after the initial steep climb. Be sure to bring a camera.

It's always a good idea to tell someone where you are going. The caches in this series are not recommended at night.

Practice CITO. That's one way we can show our appreciation to the Southeastern Climbers Coalition. If it's a nice day, you may meet climbers.
