Geocache Description:

A quick placement to assist with the 31 days of caching in August 2013.

The coords will lead you to one of 2 corrugated iron walls left in this area, amongst other remnants of buildings. Take care as there is a lot of rubbish and potential hidden dangers beneath the undergrowth
Stealth will be required as this is a busy walkway and cycle way between Tower Junction and Hagley Park/The Hospital.

You are looking for a camo'ed eclipse container, no room for swaps or TBs. BYO pen.

The following is a direct quote from Twosharpe (ie any info you want to discuss, contact them)
"the area has been somewhat of a wasteland for years. It used to be the main part of Blenheim Road until recently when they built the “Blenheim Road Deviation” – the new overbridge to Moorhouse from Tower Junction. Tower Junction shopping area was built just prior to this. Blenheim Road itself used to continue straight ahead past the cache site to a roundabout where it hit Hagley just past where we were standing. There was actually an old overbridge over the railway line, right over where the cache lies. The old bridge was becoming unsafe." and " The project to divert Blenheim Road took 2 years to construct and was completed in 2007, but the old overbridge was only more recently removed. The new track/ cycleway was always in the plan, along with a lot more carparking around Hagley Park than was previously there- the project really took the traffic heat off Deans Ave. The surrounding area is the old Christchurch salesyards, which is another story altogether. They were in use until the mid 1990’s, but have fallen derelict since. It is owned by overseas interests who have had development plans, but as yet have never acted on them. They never seem to come to see their mess. They also own the old brick building complex half way down Riccarton Road , also derelict"; Here I was thinking it was earthquake damage, having not arrived in Chch until after the major quakes!
