1798 Heritage Trail: Sacked Village Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Eclectic Penguin: Time to go - it wasn't the best cache in the series along the Herritage Trail, to be honest and was overlooked by nearby properties making several people nervous of even trying to find it.

Geocache Description:

This cache forms part of a series of caches placed along a recognised heritage trail which follows the course taken by the North Cork Militia and British Cavalry, ending up at Oulart Hill, where a decisive battle took place which lit the flame that culminated in a republic being declared in Wexford and a major uprising in Wexford, Wicklow and the East Coast of Ireland.

At this location in 1798, there was a small hamlet consisting of a few small dwellings and a public house. On their way to Oulart Hill, the militia bolstered themselves with the pub's contents before burning it to the ground, suspecting that the owner was a rebel. It was here also that the King's men burned several dwellings to the ground to try to encourage the rebels to come down from the hill. The manouver failed but the dwellings and pub were never re-built until relatively modern housing was built here recently.

The road that branches off from the old coach road is called Fairy Lane - the origin of this curious title has been lost in time.

The cache is a small pill pot with no room for swaps. BYOP.

Note: this has been moved for me but I don't have a good hint for the new location. Should someone find it, could you let me know its new location, container type and a possible hint please?
