Don't Forget Your Camera Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GoldCircle: It is with a great deal of sadness, that I have had to archive all the caches in this series; a combination of Coillte deciding to fell entire tranches of forest leaving nothing but a wasteland and then, where forest has been left standing, the new cycle park has lead to remodelling of the pathways and tracks - areas where stages of caches were places were either destroyed, buried or simple made accessible and mugglable... and then building works have encroached on the views, so other caches, where the view was (part of) the attraction are no longer viable.

I removed all my containers today, with help from Fitzet, who was a particular help trying to find them amidst the destruction. The gadgets will re-appear elsewhere, no doubt!

Black Eddie was also removed at the instruction of the CO, to save this old cache. Let's hope it can be kept alive.

Thanks to everyone who visited and made these caches the run-away success that they were! I genuinely appreciate it.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

A  quick and easy cache near the Balledmonduff Gate entrance to the woods - a gentle start on the way to greater things! This may be a history lesson for younger cachers - the container is, well, unusual, in this day and age; please be gentle with it and don't pull/twist too hard.

The Cache

This cache is a simple and elegant micro placed in  the forest.

It serves as a reminder to cachers to check they have their cameras with them - and provides an opportunity to return to their cars before walking onwards. At various points, the views across South Co. Dublin and North Wicklow are unparallelled with vistas stretching from Killiney Hill right past the Sugar Loaf.

The cache container harks back to days gone by - and may need to be explained to younger cachers. Please be sure to seal everything up tight - water will destroy this cache.
