
The trail is a fairly short hike of 0.6 miles each way, with 445 ft of elevation gain. The trailhead and parking are located right off Route 28, and coordinates are offered as an additional waypoint below. This trail is fairly well marked with yellow markers, and is well-traveled. This cache is located on the way up to the summit.
I would suggest to plan for a picnic on top to enjoy the spectacular views of Fourth Lake and surrounding areas. I've also read somewhere that this would be a good spot to take in a sunset, and believe it to be true, although I've not yet experienced that here.
Note regarding "Winter Friendly" attribute: Stage one is the only stage that might not be winter-friendly, since it is only about knee-high. If you can find that in the snow, then the other two stages should not give you any difficulty.
