Geocache Description:

Parking is available on Quarry road by the mailboxes. Congratulations to pps3gc for the FTF!

This cache is located next to a wonderful service that mother nature has provided us - a natural spring. Essentially, a natural spring is formed when ground water breaches the surface, causing this water to pump out of the ground. Pipes are often placed into the source of the spring, forcing the spring water to travel through the pipe, thus allowing us to collect the water. Much like geocaching, there are thousands of springs scattered across the globe waiting to be found. For more information on this spring and others around the world, visit http://www.findaspring.com/ . However, with all good things, there's a catch. Since this is natural, untreated ground water, there is the possibility of bacteria being present in the water, so absolutely do not drink this water straight from the source as is. Always boil it before consumption. Natural spring water is often favourable due to the fact that it does not contain any chemicals, such as chlorine and lead - which are present in municipal tap water, often providing a much purer taste. It is also full of vitamins and minerals, ideal for plants as well as animals (humans included of course!). If you do choose to bring some water home with you to boil, you will notice a white residue, don't be alarmed, this is just harmless calcium! Even more favourable! There is no fee to collect this spring water and the flow is continuous, so feel free to take some containers with you! I'm having a glass of it right now (post boiled) and I can tell you it is amazing, you really can taste the difference! As I said, parking is available just off Quarry road by the mailboxes, you will hear the water flowing. The spring is just located a metre or so off of the highway in a ditch. I have included a loonie for the FTF prize. I was able to get a reading of about 4 metres from the cache, so I have posted a spoiler picture just in case, as well as 2 images of the spring. I didn't see any poison ivy, but keep an eye out just in case as there were a few different plants infront of GZ. Enjoy the spring and the cache!
