*gln: ARCHIVING ABANDONED CACHE
YOUR Last Visit TO GEOCACHING.COM was quite a while ago.

Looks like our timing is off and It’s time to say goodbye to this cache.

Since I haven't any maintenance here in a very long time, I am going to assume that your priorities have changed and you’ve gone in a different direction.

Let me know if I can be of assistance in the future.

Thanks a MILLION for all you have done, Glenn

Geocache Description:

This is me and my daughters first cache. I used to hang out here in the early 70s as a teenager. There was no paved trail around the lake then. I would walk down a dirt trail that followed the lake shoreline and climb up to this area and sit for hours and look out over the lake, it was so peaceful. My daughter and I spend lots of time at this park exploring. There is more than one way to get to the cache location, you can walk the paved trail from the "Dripping Falls" and do "THE CLIMB" as I did in the day or you can take the high trail that starts to the right of the falls. If you take the high trail, start at the right side of the falls and go up the hill until you find the trail and go south. The cache container is loaded with 9 TBs and other goodies and is big enough for small swag. Do not place candy or other food in the cache. Be sure to replace the cache container exactly as you found it as this area is a favorite hang out spot for teenagers. The cache location is difficult to get to so use good judgement when attempting this one especially if you have small children along. If you take the paved trail, the terrain rating is a 5. If you take the high trail route from the falls, the terrain rating is a 3.5. The fall season is my favorite time to go here, it is worth coming back to. Have fun, be safe and respect the park rules and hours :)

Warning

NOTICE: Please be respectful of the posted park hours. If you enter the park after hours you are trespassing. If you are stopped you can be ticketed or arrested and will put the future of geocaching in the parks in jeopardySpecial permission to hide caches in St. Louis County parks is NOT needed as long as the Groundspeak rules are followed. "Blanket Permission" has been worked out in advance with the park service. DO NOT CALL THE PARK as they cannot handle the calls. The Groundspeak cache reviewer does need to know exactly how and where the caches are hidden and what type of containers are used. The geocaching liaisons will notify the park service of new caches. Remember NO AMMO BOXES or PVC PIPE caches.
