Geocache Description:

A 500 ml snap and seal container containing a notebook,pen, pencil, a travel-tag with keyring,and several swaps.

This cache is near the site of the first rice crop grown in Australia close to a state forest on the Murray River. The first rice was grown in Australia in 1905 by Dr Jo Takasuka who had migrated from Japan with his wife and two children and started growing rice on the floodplains of the Murray River near the Vinifera State Forest. Take your time to read Dr Takasuka's story on the sign-board at the carpark and enjoy the peaceful view of the river and forest.
