The cache is atop the highest point on the frequently visited Hondo volcano, the views are splendid.
This cache can easily be combined with the cache Vulcano.
The volcano is frequently visited, usually via a walk from Lajares but also as a walk from the adjacent volcano route. The route is paved all the way to the the viewing gallery overlooking the crater so the terrain to this point is not a problem. From the viewing gallery walk to the right and continue to the highest point on the rim of the volcano where you will find the cache. The terrain on the rim of the volcano is good underfoot with few loose rocks.
Do not attempt to walk clockwise around the rim, at times it is very rugged with sheer drops to the side.
The walk can be easily managed in trainers. The walk is suitable for children under supervision but take care to keep them away from the steep falls that are present on this volcano. Be especially careful in the area arond the cache.
As with all walking in Fuerteventura, because of the rocky terrain, ALWAYS look where you place your feet, if you wish to admire the scenery, stop walking and plant your feet securely.
Please ensure that the cache is pushed well back into the "cave", it is covered with the rocks and the lid is secured properly.
