This cache was placed in memory of our very good friend arctic72, who introduced us to geocaching in the summer of 2012 but, sadly, passed away on May 5th, 2013.
Arctic72 was the best friend a person could ever want. She had a quirky sense of humour that was wonderfully infectious, and you couldn’t help but have a great time whenever you were in her company. Aside from geocaching, she especially loved playing (winning) games, travelling, playing poker, and driving her distinctive red Mustang ... fast, whenever she could get away with it! She was a phenomenal teacher who knew how to bring out the best in her students and who excelled at bringing FUN into the classroom. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
You are looking for a camouflaged cylindrical container. It should not be too hard to find, but closed-toe shoes and socks are recommended as there may be a small amount of bushwhacking involved ... and while this cache is technically "available in winter," it may be a bit difficult to get to if there is a significant amount of snow on the ground. There is an approach just northeast of the cache where geocachers can park while they search.
The front of the log book gives the coordinates of arctic72's final resting place, which is located very close by. You are invited to stop and visit and, as of June of 2014, there is a headstone at the grave site which should be of interest to many. Anyone who knew arctic72 will smile at all the detailed images on the front as they are so very indicative of arctic72's personality and interests. Those of you who did NOT have the good fortune of knowing her will especially appreciate the image on the back -- and we think your overall impression will be that this was someone you WISH you had known.
At the time of placement, the cache contained items related to some of arctic72’s many interests. FTF is a coffee shop gift card – enjoy! Congratulations to Gramma & Pat on being first-to-find!
