The series can be done in any order, but is numbered from the recommended (free) parking area (coordinates given in SWAT1). There are other caches in the vicinity which you may want to consider finding if you haven’t already done so.
The route takes you mainly along footpaths (some could be muddy in winter) but there are a couple of short stretches of road where care should be taken with young children and/or dogs.
There is something funny going on with the footpath between #6 and #7. It is quite clear from the fingerposts near these caches that the path shifts from one field to another near #6 and the only way to follow it would be to go through the big steel gate. There is no stile. Sometimes we have found the gate open, but the farmer often secures it by wrapping barbed wire around the gate and the gatepost (in addition to a serviceable chain) so then the only options (discounting removing the wire, of course) are to climb over the gate (not a good idea) or continue along through the field you are in, keeping to the fence line, till you get to the end of the field where there is a stile. We recommend this approach. If you encounter the farmer and he objects, you might want to say you have taken this route because of the barbed wire on the gate and does he have another solution?
The cache is just before you get to the fingerpost by the gate when travelling from #5. PLEASE REPLACE EXACTLY AS FOUND TO AVOID IT DROPPING INTO THE NEARBY POND OR BEING SPOTTED BY MUGGLES.
Don’t forget to take note of the Bonus Letter and value in each cache. These will be required to calculate the coordinates for the Bonus cache, SWAT14
