Geocache Description:

The famous Derby Pool stood on Harrison Drive in New Brighton and was named after the race course built in the area by Lord Derby around the turn of the 17th Century.  Centuries later the racecourse has now long since disappeared but some remains of
the Art Deco swimming pool built in the early 20th century still stand.

The huge pool provided many hours of fun for the locals of Wallasey and the day trippers from Liverpool.  Its huge outdoor swimming area made the pool an attraction during the summer months and was often the scene of vast over crowding.  Despite its popularity the pool was damaged several times by storms and was eventually closed down in the 1980's due to lack of funds to repair the building.  The building was eventually refurbished many years later and some of the original areas still stand.  Today the building is a restaurant overlooking the bay area and has been given the deserving name of "The Derby Pool".

The cache you are looking for is a 35mm film canister along the road that leads to the restaurant.
