Had a cache container and fully meant to replace this cache- http://coord.info/GC3T1HT but was kayaking about and found a perfect spot for a new cache. Couldn't resist placing one there so the maintence trip has been rescheduled. Found an abandoned goose egg on the snag hence the name.
From looking at the map, you've probably realized this cache is in the middle of Mallard Lake. I'd recommend using a kayak or canoe to get there. Swimming may or may not be legal, but I certainly wouldn't choose that option. The cache location is the only place nearby for a cache so shouldn't be too hard. It's a pill bottle tied on with some fishing line. Please tuck cache away so nothing happens to it.
Can launch boats from the boathouse parking lot for the shortest paddle or do any of the other Creve Couer lots. I like the paddle down the smaller chute from the lots on Creve Couer Lake so if you're into scenery and not just numbers, go that way. You'll have a short- 20 ft- portage between Creve Couer Lake and Mallard Lake, but it's not too bad. If you have a boat of questionable sea-worthieness or just don't have time, it's a short paddle from the boathouse.
