Located in a woods on the north end of lake paradise on city of Mattoon property. The section of east lake paradise road adjacent to this woods is closed to vehicle traffic. There is good parking at either end of the woods on the east lake paradise road at the listed coordinates. Please do not park on the lake road as it is a busy highway with no place to pull over.
Park in one of the listed parking lots and head up or down the old road. Near one of the biggest maple trees I have ever seen. I measured the base and it is 18 feet 5 inches around.
