JamesA60: I have decided to archive this cache to reduce the amount I have to maintain before I go off to study at University. I plan on keeping one of each cache type, which my parents will carry on maintaining.

Ashplats wood is one of the best kept woods in East Grinstead. The woodland is maintained by Ashplats Conservation Group who often do litter picking and coppicing to keep the woodland in top condition. The woodland is also a West Sussex Site of Nature Conservation Importance within the High Wield Area of Outstanding natural beauty.
The woodland contains other geocaches which takes you all around the woods which is a lovely place to walk. So while you are not looking for the geocaches, take in the scenery in and around the beautiful woodland.
Holtye Track is the only part of the woodland which is a public footpath, maintained by both the West Sussex County Council and the Ashplats Conservation Group. This area often becomes untidy due to inconsiderate people dumping garden and household waste over their fences. Walking along this path you will see many old trees, some of which are protected.
