Here you will find toilets, picnic and BBQ facilities for your use before or after your walk through Rannoch Forest, keep your eyes open for the variety of wildlife here.
The section of the Forest to your west is the legendary Black Wood, the largest remnant of the ancient Caledonian Forest in Big Tree Country. Rannoch's last wolf and notorious bandits all sought refuge here. Fairies were once left saucers of whisky to protect illicit stills amongst the trees.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING ADVICE FROM HARVESTING FORESTER
For any forestry activities taking place.
Members of public must adhere to the signage around active harvesting sites and whilst the operations are underway some sites of interest will be inaccessable..
Even after the felling and extraction operation is complete, haulage will continue along this route so users must be aware of timber lorries.
Do not climb on timber stacks.
