A very small cemetery containing mainly membes of the pioneering family of Garcia.
This area was first settled in 1774 by descendants of DeVargas. The word, CANJILON means deer antler in Spanish.
A post office opened in 1892.
These "Spirit" caches are a series placed at or near New Mexico cemeteries to pay respect to the pioneer ancestors who helped to settle and form their communities.
We solicit your volunteer support as a cacher to place a "Spirit" cache at or near a cemetery of your choosing.
