Geocache Description:

Potts Corners, on Weister Creek was a close knit hamlet where people gathered to educate their children, worship, work hard and help a neighbor when there was need.

Stop and enjoy the artesian well across the road before or after looking for the cache. This well supplied running water for the house and farm. People stop here to cool their feet on hot summer days, and to enjoy the bubbling water.  The Daines house was moved from this site after the government forced the sale of the farm.  The house was moved up the road towards Dell, where its lacy trim in the gables remind us of a gentler time.  Trees and weeds have grown into a dense thicket where the farmhouse once stood proudly.  Skirt the field to approach GZ and it will be easier. You are looking for a common farm creature that supplied food daily, and sometimes a Sunday dinner. Permission to place this cache was given by the Kickapoo Valley Reserve where a copy of the Geocache Placement Notification Form is on file.
