KAS - Kansas Adventure Series
I came back to this spot a couple years ago in the Fall, after realizing that there must have been a bridge here at one point for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad to cross Slate Creek. What I found was the remaining concrete pilings that held the bridge up.
To avoid the private property to the East and West, please park at the railroad bed at my "KAS #22 - ATSF Railroad." Start your hike on the railroad bed just behind the "Flood Area Ahead" sign. If you come in the Summer, you will quickly encounter a thick mass of poison ivy which continues all of the way to the cache. Bring long pants in any season to protect your legs from the downed branches. This is about a .4 mile round trip walk to the cache and back.
Enjoy this awesome place, have fun, and be safe!
Please see the description for KAS #1 - Enclosure (GC2X8VP) for more information on the series and what you will need to bring.
For this KAS cache you are looking for a camo plastic jar.
