Last Winter I put out a cache at the North Entrance and the South Entrance to the Littlefield Garden on the campus of the University of Maine Orono. Since there was going to be construction taking place at the North Entrance for the next year, I ended up archiving that cache. I was anxious, however, to put a cache inside the garden itself. To do that, I contacted Brad Libby who is the person in charge of maintaining the garden. Brad showed me a spot that would be good for a cache which wouldn't damage any of the ornamental plants in the garden.
While you're looking for the cache, take some time to stroll around the garden and take in the beauty of the place. This is really one of those places that you might never have gone to if you weren't looking for a cache.
Note: There was some old wire attached to the tree where the cache is located. I think I snipped it all off but there might still be some embedded on the tree. Please be careful when reaching for the container. BYOP
