Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in an area just off the Capital Area Greenbelt called the Sunken Gardens.  Very area with nice views of the river.  I hope you enjoy this area as much as my husband and I do, we love biking here.  You can access the garden from Capital Area Greenbelt that runs along Front St or the trail that runs right next to the river (they run parallel to each other).

Please use stealth and bring your own writing utensil. No signature=no find. No need to step on any flowers or bushes.. please be respectful of your surroundings. Have fun!! The Sunken Garden is the excavated foundation area of dwellings once occupied by migrant river coal dredgers who worked the Susquehanna River bottom in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The reclamation and preservation of Harrisburg's shoreline, part of the City Beautiful movement of 1901-1930, created the current Riverfront Park, one of the most scenic waterfronts in the nation.
