Geocache Description:

A series dedicated to influential Canadian Prime Ministers. Pencil required.

Sir John Alexander Macdonald was born on January 11, 1815 in Glasgow, Scotland. He died on June 6, 1891. Macdonald was Canada's first Prime Minister and dominant figure in Canada's Confederation.

Macdonald served as Prime Minister for 19 years, first taking office in August 1867. He was attributed to creating the Canadian Confederation commencing July 1 1867 and for promoting and finalizing the completion of the Canadian Pacific Railway across the nation. This proved to be a great way to unite Canada and facilitate transportation.

His likeness can be found on Canada's 10 dollar bill. Also the Sir John A. Macdonald Secondary School (aka SJAM) opened in Waterloo, Ontario in 2004.

Best parking is along Highbrook St.
