Welcome to Tom Price Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Balayang: I am archiving this cache due to the unfortunate lack of action taken to restore it, or any communication from the cache owner, Happy1956, requesting additional time.

Despite ample opportunities provided for the Cache Owner to respond, their silence leads me to the conclusion that the cache has been abandoned.

In such cases, archived caches will not be unarchived, and as a result, this location is now open for the placement of a new cache by another interested party.

Thanks,

Balayang

Geocache Description:

This cache is a welcome break to stretch your legs if you have been driving from Paraburdoo or have come in from Karijini National Park. The Visitor Information Board might help you get your bearings before you enter Tom Price.

Tom Price , situated in the Pilbara Region of WA is the states highest town at 747m. The town has been dubbed "Top town in WA". The Pilbara Aboriginal Language Centre Wangka Maya says that the name for the Pilbara Region derives from the Aboriginal word bilybara meaning dry in the Nyamal and Banyjima Languages. Most of Australia's iron ore is mined in the Pilbara, with mines mostly centered around Tom Price and Newman. Tom Price is the closet town to the pristine Karijini National Park. Karijini has magnificent gorges that are a must see. There are a number of caches in or near Karijini. Please save these caches for offline use as there is no phone reception in the park. Tom Price also has a number of caches that will take you to some memorable places. This cache is a sistema 200 ml container. Please bring your own pen. Enjoy the wonderful scenery. The colors of the rocks change throughout the day.
