After well over 100 Finds of my own and over 20 months of geocaching experience under my belt, my geocaching friends have assured me it's high time for me to hide one of my own caches and to say hello to a new kind of geocaching experience. This cache is therefore my small token of appreciation to my geocaching 'family' in Israel, and an invitation to spread out more Hides to the beautiful and historic suburbs of Jerusalem.
The cache is located in a public space with which all Israelis are unfortunately familiar -- above a miklat (bomb-shelter) -- but with which I am uniquely familiar: halfway between 2 places I called 'home' for almost 4 years. As it does for all Hebrew speakers, the name of this cache ("shalom") therefore carries threefold meaning for me, and its placement reflects those meanings.
Tzaitchem l'shalom ("Go in peace") and post your photos!
