Everyone knows that Al Bundy was a shoe salesman. His home away from home was Gary's Shoes and Accessories at the New Market Mall. Poor Al would slave away at the mall for an undetermined salary, however in most episodes it was referred to as minimum wage. Al's best desciption of his salary was that after taxes and Peg's spending he would receive one nickel out of every paycheck. Without a doubt, some of the greatest lines in Bundy history came from episodes involving the shoe store:
A fat woman klip-klopped into the shoe store today and said, "I need something I'd be comfortable in." I said, "Try Wyoming." Now I don't know when they started letting women carry chainsaws...
So then a skinny woman with a hook nose Olive Oils into the shoe store and says, "I want something to make me look sexy." So I say, "You'll have to wait a long time before someone that ugly comes in to stand next to ya."
