Geocache Description:

The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.

THE CACHE IS *NOT* AT THE CEMETERY! You mustgo to the large black gate. From that vantage point, look all the way across the first pasture. Beyond the far fenceline, you should see a small, low stone enclosure with a sign planted in its midst. This is the grave (and accompanying historical marker) for Isham Jones Good, who died in 1866. Read up about him--he played a non-trivial role in Texas and local history.

This one was tough to find--this was probably my fourth attempt to locate it, and I was only able to track it down this time by cross-referencing some pictures from the minutes of a 2010 meeting of the Hays County Historical Commission. Interestingly, this same property (belonging to the artist Daryl Howard) also is the site of the Christal Cemetery, which I haven't spotted yet and which features six interments. As always, any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
